Daft Punk - Discovery
100

I cannot, I repeat, I CAN NOT glaze this album enough. Y'know I was like why not let me just do a track ranking and think about it for a little bit, but I just think this is electronic music PERFECTION and ended up giving all the tracks 100. People will point to "weaker" spots in the tracklist such as songs like Nightvision, Short Circuit, or Too Long and to that I say WRONG! Nightvision works as a great interlude in the album, but also "interlude" term aside even ... read more

Daft Punk - Random Access Memories
94

Hadn't rated this on the site yet, but this album is so peak! Definitely my second favorite album of theirs behind the obvious masterpiece that is Discovery. There's only really one song that I don't like as much as the others and sometimes will skip and that's Motherboard. It doesn't really do much to keep my attention and it goes on for nearly 6 minutes. Other than that I just adore this album and it's such a fun album to turn on and vibe out to. Maybe not as ... read more

Logic - Catch Me If You Can

Love coming back to this song and like... Logic I love what you're doing post-"retirement" and Ultra 85 is your peak artistically, but if you come through with an album sounding like THIS???? you might have potential to top that.

Cameron Winter - Singles
95

This guy's music is so depressingly beautiful and it fucks me up every time. God I love Cameron Winter

Cameron Winter - Heavy Metal
92

Yea I guess I'll just cry or something

Frank Ocean - Blonde
93

Beautifully potent and emotionally crushing re-listen for me. Definitely is an enhanced experience if you go into the listen already feeling depressed and wanting the album to encompass you in its emotions. I've had many past listens to this project and parts of it keep finding ways to grow on me. I like the very rough around the edges feel to this project and it enhances some of the more vulnerable parts of it. The parts in here that aren't even songs have grown on me in the sense ... read more

Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica
91

Consecutive listens has really allowed me to appreciate some of the more overly repetitive sample songs like the Hank Hill sounding "up" repeated on... well Up. Also the aggressive sample hits on Child Soldier or the very shortly cut and constantly repeating vocal lines on Nassau. This album is really good at using it's samples and creating such an incredible soundscape with it. So many songs that I just locked into. Some of these genres I'm sitting here staring at on this ... read more

山岡晃 [Akira Yamaoka] - Silent Hill 2 (Original Soundtracks)
95

Absolutely goated OST. This is just a tradition for me at this point cause this is my 3rd year now where I've re-listened to this OST on Halloween. It's an album that really pulls me deep into it's dark, beautiful, and desolate world. Definitely a great listen even if you haven't played the game cause the music evokes such an incredible place with each song it throws at you.

Tyler, The Creator - CHROMAKOPIA +
86

🔥 track for the 1 year Chomakopia anniversary! The space-y snyths, stellar keys, and the absolutely in-your-face drums make such incredible production. Tyler as of late with these last 2 albums of his has really been on a production high. He also matches the vibe of this instrumental perfectly. Definitely sounds like something that would've fit perfectly on the album. Unsure why Tyler didn't include it on the main album on streaming initially, but glad to have this in the world now

Oneohtrix Point Never - tra
90

Trippy sound collage that tickles my ears just right. The sound and vibe this stuff achieves, especially coinciding with the EP cover art, feels very liminal in nature. Very unnerving yet beautiful stuff coming together. Can't say I've heard much of Oneohtrix Point Never outside of R Plus Seven and Replica, but honestly this is reminding me heavily of those albums, namely the former one. If the rest of this album keeps up this creative peak the first three tracks show then I am in for ... read more

Machine Girl - Dread Architect
95

Holy shit this is one of the most pummeling and visceral things I've heard from Machine Girl and I love it to death! Also shoutout Keith Rankin for the album and single covers cause they've all been fire! 🔥🔥🔥

Justin Bieber - SWAG II
NR

Thank you Anthony I've now formed my opinion on this album and really understand that your mother ate fries 😊😊😊

Gorillaz - DoYaThing
100

This is in my top 2 Gorillaz songs and it's also probably in my top 10 songs period. That is... if we're talking about the full-length version of this of course. Blew my mind upon first listen and the instances I come back to it I genuinely get chills hearing it. Truly top-notch energy both vocally and instrumentally. An absolute BEHEMOTH of a track

Dijon - Baby
91

One of the most unique R&B records I've heard for sure. Some crazy eclectic production and such a unique vocal timbre! Left quite an impact in it's most grandiose and even in its stripped back moments. The fleeting tracks that are here in the form of two interludes offered a lot to my ears as well, the latter one serving as an intro for the subsequent track Rewind. Definitely check this thing out!

Racing Mount Pleasant - Call It Easy
98

Still have yet to listen to the album, but I kept coming back to this single for a while. Definitely in contention as my song of the year! <3

Ninajirachi - I Love My Computer
91

This is such a pleasant, cute, energetic, in-your-face, and nostalgic listen! This sounds like all the sorts of fun EDM I found myself listening to online during an earlier internet age. Back when I was a kid, times felt simpler, and these advancements in tech like computers didn't feel so dystopian like it does now with AI. Back when it was an easier and more open space to meet people and express yourself on! This album feels like a love letter to that era and their way of feeling alive ... read more

Joey Valence & Brae - HYPERYOUTH

Went for some Chinese food and the fortune cookie told me this album was goated!

JID - God Does Like Ugly
86

JID makes a really bold project and statement with this one. The single had me worried cause, and even with rehearing it in the context of the album, I feel very middle of the road about it. Nothing that made that blow me away in the leadup, but the album release itself brought my excitement up so much. A lot from this thing blew me away! This to me in terms of his discography is a bit below his peak that is The Forever Story and a bit above the very solid Dicaprio 2. Lies right in between the ... read more

Freddie Gibbs - Alfredo 2
85

Production-wise this thing is an absolute 10/10 to my ears! Alchemist really locked tf in and made so many mesmerizing beats. Feature-wise this album is 2 for 3. Anderson Paak absolutely SLID on that chorus for Ensalada and JID keeps showing what an insane wordsmith he is. Larry June on the other hand sounded absolutely comatose. I've heard my share of Larry June before too and he can sound good on songs, but this one aint it. He's the only weak part of that song and on the album as a ... read more

Black Sabbath - Master of Reality
97

R.I.P. Ozzy Osbourne

Another Black Sabbath album re-listen that I'm finally putting my rating of on my AOTY. This is again another Black Sabbath project that GREW on me. I loved it when I had heard it... I don't even know how long ago at this point, but coming back to it was quite the pleasure especially right after going through Paranoid. The sound of this project doesn't feel as masterfully rough around the edges as that album feels, but still there's something so potent ... read more
