Upon first listen this is quite an enthralling listen. I'm a Tyler fan so I guess it should come to no surprise that I liked this, but I wasn't expecting to like it as much as I did. Was waiting for a time to come back and listen to this and the 10th anniversary brought me back to this classic. Such an incredible sounding album that continues to grow on me and is *probably* my favorite Tame Impala album. I'd have to re-listen to Lonerism, but this album just hits me on so many levels. The second half of Close Your Eyes made for such a transcendental listen! Very consistent and vibey tracklist. In terms of atmospheric drum and bass this is pretty peak
The album updated So Be It Pt. II to be the original So Be it shortly after I made my review so I just want to lay out an update review. Solid top notch album. Great production from Pharrell and killer rapping from Pusha T and Malice. There are complaints from me that knock this album's rating down. Having a first line like "I don't give a fuck if you like me" really makes me believe he kinda does give a fuck. I dunno the beat is ok and it's just Drake singing and rapping about the stuff he's clearly not over as he's still on about it on this song and now he's trying to pick his fights with people who aren't even rappers.
I'm still happy with the results as the chorus and the guitars are really nice on the track and both their vocals really compliment each other. I just wish that it didn't fizzle out so soon. Felt like there was more potential being shown at the end of the track, but nothing else came of it
Very effective use of the roughly six and a half minute runtime. Parts that remind me of 2814, Naked Flames, parts that put me in some heavily vibed out racing game, or parts where I feel like I'm fighting some crazy Terraria boss mod. This song has it all
13 minutes has never gone by so quickly. I listen through this thing and I just immediately want to listen to it again! How do you do it Will? HOW?!
Not only is it 13 minutes, but it came out on the 13th of December which is also my birthday so bonus points to this song. One of my favorite songs and it dropped on my birthday. Kinda fitting honestly.
P.S. - By the way my bonus points towards this song would make it go over 100 cause it's already a perfect song. 🥰
Little Simz's inclusion is brief on here, but honestly it's still full of fire and Sampha makes this nearly 5 minute track an absolute beauty to listen through from front to back!

I need to rate more things that I've heard on this website, but yeah this is the biggest, fattest, and easiest 100 I can give. Honestly some songs had to take their time to grow on me some years back, but this is an INCREDIBLE hip-hop experience! Also not like any track here is quote on quote "underrated", but For Sale? (Interlude) gets slept on compared to other tracks yet it's SO GOOD!

This gets worse upon listening back. The production and riffs are the only solid things going for the song
