Yeah I'm a bit biased with drum and bass, the genre has always been one of my favorites, but I will put aside my biases for this review because I truly think this album is something really, really special and deserves infinitely more attention outside of the hardcore fanbase it already has
Unfortunately, I don't have the unique experience of rolling up to a UK nightclub and hearing "Timeless" for the first time, but listening at 4:00 am on my couch has to be somewhat ... read more
Deftones #4
I was SUPER excited for this one, fans love it and die on the hill that it's the best Deftones album, even better than White Pony... which I kinda agree with? I don't actually know which album I like more. White Pony still has my two favorite Deftones songs in "Elite" and "Passenger," but this is SPECIAL, that 5 track run from "Swerve City" to "Entombed" is my favorite five-track run from them so far
I will say this: If this album ... read more
CREEPY ASS ALBUM COVER ALERT: Look at the weird fnaf bear thing under Bill's torso and the pedophile duck staring at Bill's afro. 70s were different
I had to mention that. I love Bill Withers, nice dude, I'm very biased to anything 70s disco/soul, and he's also always smiling :)
Not much to say here, I've slowly been going through Bill's catalogue to familiarize myself with more than just his massive hits that everybody already knows. His other albums are really ... read more
I kinda realized around a month ago that I've given literally 0 attention to any new releases this year except for the massive blockbuster hip-hop shit, so I spun a wheel between this album and the new neurosis one, and underscores won! I'll listen to Neurosis soon, but I'm really glad my 50/50 wheel landed on Underscores because this sounds like summer
First Underscores album, great album, and I kinda don't have much to say? EDM is one of those genres I almost always will ... read more
Listening to the album that inspired Metallica before Metallica! This is great, more obscure gems like these get me thinking on how certain 80s/90s albums completely blew up in popularity while other albums with VERY similar sounds never reached anywhere close. Every single Metallica megafan on earth would enjoy this, but for whatever reason this album never reached the audience that it very clearly had on tap. Maybe it was just ahead of its time, maybe it was bad marketing, or maybe it was ... read more
200TH review 🤧
Finally getting to this, it's a classic, insanely influential, completely changed hip-hop. I'm not as into reviewing these massive, critically acclaimed albums in crazy depth if I don't have something specific I want to talk about, because everything that I could say has already been brought up a million times. 200th review tho
Also, as my score suggests, I'm not absolutely CRAZY on this album like everyone else seems to be. Still really enjoyed ... read more
