ok before I start spewing out the mid allegations, let me preface this by saying "Where You Are" is truly one of the greatest modern EDM anthems. It brought back the ascending feelings of euphoria and adrenaline that made EDM such a force to be reckoned with in the early 2010's. It truly was a monumental moment when it came out early 2023 with seemingly every large artist in the space playing it at their own sets and many even putting their own spin on it with remixes.
Now, with ... read more
John Summit's debut album was exactly what I expected, safe. Sticking to his progressive and tech house production, "Comfort In Chaos" is a bit of a nostalgic record that feels like it would have been released in 2013. That being said, I don't feel like the tracks are dated or lack modern mixing, in fact, I think a majority of the tracklist here is quite excellent. It's a great album for someone like myself where it's wrapped in nostaglia, yet doesn't ... read more

I'm biased because my manager plays this album daily at work, which drives me crazy. The vocals are just annoying for the most part on here
Favorite Track: Where You Are?
Least Favorite Track: EAT THE BASS
played safe for sure but it succeeded in making me dance so I don't mind that much. I do wish more risks were taken on this but there is enough variation for me to pick out some of these tracks. Would love hearing this project live. May grow off me later
added to liked songs: Tears, Shiver, EAT THE BASS, Where You Are, Go Back
Comfort in Chaos is fun and accessible EDM that delivers an easy, enjoyable listen without pushing too far.
Just a few weeks away from Summit's new album release, I listened to this to see what to expect from him. And it's actually really decent. It's formulaic EDM but with Summit's own touches and styles, which work really well. Adds some occasional dance elements and some tech house stuff, which add a layer of uniqueness that does wonders. While some songs really do feel somewhat dated (EAT THE BASS mostly), there's songs here that really do stand out greatly. Both of ... read more
The incredibly high expectations for this album after the monster singles “where you are” and “shiver” make this a safe, formulaic listen that tries to re-create his biggest hit.
This actually is quite ironic since his face is practically a staple in the EDM scene right now, you can’t play a set without hearing where you are. I was encouraged after hearing in an interview this is “the most experimentation and creativity” he has ever put in his music, ... read more
Is may be safe as hell, but it is still an enjoyable listen all the same. I can see a lot of these making it on to people's summer playlists this year.
I just find this super boring and safe and honestly not that fun? It’s just kind of there and I kept forgetting I was listening to music literally while it was playing… like it didn’t hold my attention for more than a few songs (you can totally guess the songs too). This record is just really really okay. I bet his sets are a blast though
Una colección de divertidas y agradables canciones EDM.

A collection of fun and enjoyable EDM songs.
EDM these days is an interesting thing. Lots of it is just repeated ideas with different singers and names. Then there are distinct styles that stand out from the bunch, and a lot of times these are the artists who blow up and gain worldwide fame. Then the fans of these artists are called normies and looked down upon by the "real fans" of EDM. That then alienates people, and the newer popular artists in EDM tend to have a more traditional style. That's fine to have a traditional ... read more
"Bro, I'm hungry, what do you want for dinner?"
"I just need to EAT THE BASS."
John Summit gives us a record which, for the most part, feels like it doesn't really have a lot of passion, it feels like the focus was shifted more towards the vibes. Which, while they do sound good, get a little bit repetitive. Although, kudos for the switch-up on Go Back. That is an absolutely majestic transition... chef's kiss.

This is good mainstream EDM. Why can't the radio play more of this?
BEST TRACKS: Shiver, Where You Are, comedown, EAT THE BASS
Some incredibly solid songs mixed in with some mid ones. Favourite tracks: shiver, resonate, where you are, go back, tears
I want someone to rely on me as much as edm producers rely on random female singers.
I think John is a really good producer. This album has consistently above average edm production. What really holds this album back for me is that basically every single song has the exact same structure. It makes it very tiring to listen to very similar songs over and over. It doesn’t help that most of the vocalists on the album are very similar and don’t distinguish themselves from one another. ... read more
Not really anything worth listening to in this album, it's kinda forgettable and bland, The one exception to this is the single Where You Are, which is an excellent EDM song.
