Liked a couple tracks but overall found this to be a decent Hard bop modal jazz release.

Pete La Roca is an overlooked composer and drummer, and so is this Blue Note classic Basra if you ask me. La Roca has played with some of the greats - Sonny Rollins, Coltrane and Freddie Hubbard to name a few - but his solo records never caught a lot of attention. Basra maybe not the most groundbreaking Hard Bop record, but it is still an excellent one nonetheless.
