I love DGD with a warm affection, but this album felt too repetitive compared to their previous work - it comes across more like B-sides for Mothership than a proper album. Still, it's DGD, with their excellent songwriting, unhinged lyrics, and contrasting vocal styles.

After the groovy bombastic spectacle that was Mothership I was excited to see what the next album would have in store, while it doesn't exactly measure up it experiments with different sounds that don't always hit the mark. For me this album most definitely surpasses Mothership and in my eyes is probably the best album Tillian’s ever been in. I also love how Andrew’s in Evaporate and I love the references to older tracks.
