The incongruity could be cloying if it wasn’t so well done, but rewards repeat plays.

We is harmless and occasionally boring, but its complicated emotions and generational voice should appeal to a segment of the Coachella millennial population.

From the first song to the third, there's a huge transition from the kinda nice to the absolutely boring. I started listening to that record not knowing who Gnash was until I saw "I love u I hate u" was on that record. So my impression of him went from an independent kid making his songs without pissing off the world and about to progress a lot, to this artist already done with his career and recycling successful songs and boring chords progressions. I wish gnash could be talented but ... read more
Gnash's debut studio album "we" is a one dimensional record that seems to specialize in missed opportunities. It's forgettable, generic and painfully boring which is a shame considering that there were quite a few ideas here that aside from Gnash sounding like a human chipmunk, could have worked pretty well.

To say that Gnash has no appeal would just flat out be wrong. I pretty much see him as an edgier, older Jacob Sartorius. Everything from the autotuned high-pitched vocals to ... read more
This album is a huge step back from gnash's earlier work. us and me were two solid EPs with strong features and catchy beats. With the exception of two songs on this record, gnash goes solo and struggles to make a strong artistic statement on his own. He takes no risks in making a collection of songs that attempt to be relatable like "broken hearts club" and "nobody's home". Jeremy Zucker, Chelsea Cutler, and others in this vein of pop do a much better job of creating a ... read more
We got a 0/10 so early this year. Congrats Gnash, you sound horrible!!!

P.S: I'm only giving this 2 points cause I laughed at the line

"I'm not good at much
Just singin' songs and lovin' you"

but actually, he can't sing for shit...
It just feels flat. Gnash said this would be his "emotions and feelings" album, but it's so squared and limited it barely expresses any other emotion rather than aesthetic sadness which sounds good on any pop album, but lack depth and substance because of how predictable it sounds. The lyrics, though quite smart at times, resemble a story-line that ultimately goes nowhere and gets stuck in its own bubble
