Okay this is great fucking stuff.
This is sonically all over the place taking clear influence from Myspace era Mathcore and Sasscore but also having a lot of the touch of post hardcore bands like Hail the Sun all over this LP.
This album is a very silly and chaotic through and through. And especially as a debut record this is a STRONG entrance. Very excited to see how this band will develop moving forward.
not as life changing as i'd hoped with those tags and album art but still really solid
I've seen these guys live before they had any music out, I've heard these songs develop and grow into singles and now into a full length LP and I can proudly say, deathdotgov is the best band in Arizona. The use of horns throughout the record adds such a unique dynamic but I will admit they're only present on half the album and sometimes they get muddled behind the guitars, especially on Magic Guns which has 3 SAX PLAYERS credited.
