Although Rush-bashers still have plenty to bitch about, Presto is undeniably loose — evident in ballsy excursions into dance grooves and virtual folk rock — by the band’s standard.
On relisten, this might be worst than Hold Your Fire. It's close, but this album is SO uninspired. Yes, we are out of the synth era, but this has even less personality and is SO fucking boring
Blech...I wish I could get the last 52 minutes of my life back.
Despite being one of the longest Rush albums to date, Presto is one of the least creative and substantial records I've ever experienced. From its bland, incoherent album cover to its frustrating lack of purpose, this album feels like the final death toll of a band long overdue for retirement.
Put the rabbit back in the hat boys, it's time to go home.
The first song was a very promising start and then the rest of the album reminded me that this is a post 'Signals' Rush album. It's better than 'Hold Your Fire', and definitely not bad in general, but it's also not special whatsoever.
Oh yeah, I enjoyed Superconductor quite a bit as well.
While not as annoying as Power Windows or Hold Your Fire at times, this is just so bland. The only thing saving it from the red for me is that the musicianship is decent, tasteless but decent.
