González's smooth synthesis of classical guitar playing, English folk traditions, and pan-African rhythms have long made clear that he values quality and consistency over risk and innovation and doesn't much care for trends or scenes.
I enjoyed instrumentals a lot, I’d go even as far as to say they overshadow Gonzales vocals. Not to say his singing is bad, but it’s not the only thing I am supposed to focus on, entire instrumentals are amazing. Gonzales vocals blend perfectly with instrumentals to create this beautiful sound.
I just wish songs felt less repetitive but it wasn’t all that boring.
José González has a great voice but his vocal melodies can venture towards the meh.
So busier instrumentals supporting him isn't the worst idea.
