Heavy metal pioneers Deep Purple's "Made in Japan" is one of if not the best live album of all time, in my opinion.
These songs were played in different shows in Tokyo and Osaka in the summer of 1972, but one wouldn't notice they're from different sets at all just from listening to the album. These tracks flow seamlessly into eachother, and the performances are consistent in their high quality. It feels like these songs were MEANT to be over 10 minutes long
And it's their best album, no doubt in my mind. It feels like a final victory lap for one of the most influential rock bands to exist
