Man Alive certainly isn't the perfectly crafted album some critics are lauding it as but it does show incredible potential.
Maybe it's Man Alive's Sheer confidence that makes me feel alright about saying that: this is a band going places.
The result is something along the lines of Vampire Weekend through a Sega Megadrive, or Broken Social Scene scoring a laser fight.
Finally an album thats not get to heaven where the slower songs don't make the whole thing drag, really enjoyed most of the songs here
Man alive is fun as fuck, catchy has some great sounding moments and overall is a solid debut album. Higgs voice complements this really well and his ability to switch his range is unmatched
well well well, the very beginning of my favourite band and soon to be the creators of my favourite album of all time, man alive has a lot of retroactive pressure placed on it for me. and does it live up to it? abso-fuckin-lutely.
