Perhaps the the most admirable fact about Send is that it gives you the feeling that you're walking in an obscure part of town and discover a small stage where a band is playing that you've never heard of, but gives you the feeling that you hit upon something special.
Send is a bit of a different type of work from Wire. It’s super heavy punk rock yet still has that element of post new wave. It’s incredibly distorted and crunchy sounding the whole way through. It also has this nice electronic acidy element to it that is very innovative and original. Though very loud and in your face for most of its runtime, it is pretty cool and definitely a surprisingly original release.
Wire attempt making their own "The Downward Spiral", but somehow end up with a Mötley Crüe like record, sometimes even bordering on "Cut the Crap" by The Clash levels of dumpster fire
Like, I can respect the band going in more of a noisy and abrasive direction after evolving past their Punk Rock and Post-Punk roots, but this is just too distorted and half-baked for words
