This album is a huge risk from the band that suffered from a bit too much over ambition and uninteresting moments in their longer tracks on the second side that made an unengaging listening experience.

The first side is pretty alright despite the very boring second side. These songs are pretty energetic and memorable, especially Lakeside Park- possibly their best song up to this point. After that point, though, we get the two longer and more progressive tracks, which could’ve been great, ... read more

Fly By Night further developed Rush’s sound with progressive elements and Neil Peart being introduced in the band.

There’s a sense of discovery here with Peart’s influence here and songs like the title track and the Lord of the Rings inspired Rivendell, which is a unique acoustic lullaby, NOTHING that the band did since. It still has its fair share of debut-like rock songs, but other than that, there’s nothing much to say. It’s a decent record.

Rush’s debut is really the odd one out in the discography, and that’s not just because Neil Pearl (RIP) isn’t on drums. This feels like it’s piggybacking off of similar bands of the genre like Cream and Led Zeppelin and not doing much with it.

This record doesn’t come off as cheap or a knockoff or anything, it’s not anything bad. It’s just good ol’ rock n’ roll. The problem here is that it’s really shallow. Without Peart on drums and ... read more

Made in Heaven is a bittersweet ending, in the context of the band and as an ending to their catalog. It features songs and outtakes from previous records to insert itself as a last tribute that works in some ways and doesn’t in others.

There are some beautiful pieces on here that pays a good tribute to not only Freddie, but the band itself. However, it feels as if this record was a bit unnecessary because Innuendo felt like such a good finale. Though many songs are beautiful, it feels ... read more

At the beginning of the ‘90s, Freddie is reaching his end. He gets weak and frail, but he still wants to make the very best he can and put on a great finale, so Queen made Innuendo- a climactic record that captures all that made Queen great in the first place.

Queen goes back to their roots with some great hard rock and even prog- and produced some of the most epic songs in their entire career. There are also some excellent and unique songs about madness and moving on, as if they are ... read more
