It started snowing here today so it's the perfect time to listen to some black metal. I've seen this album cover around a bunch, I don't remember where I first saw it, perhaps it was on a particular AOTY user's livestream a looong time ago, but I always liked the cover so I figured I'd check it out eventually. One of the best modern black metal releases I have heard, the hour of pure awe and astonishing performance from the band in every aspect. The atmosphere is amazing and the pagan black metal sound in this album is also really something amazing. The guitar work on this is amazing and really unique and doesn’t copy earlier black metal bands they build their own unique identity in the genre. The drumming was tight and amazing. You gotta love the Youtube recommended page. I don't think I have ever watched a single death metal video on Youtube, but I was randomly recommended an entire death metal album from some Russian group whose name I can't pronounce, but in English is called 'Path', but more commonly referred to as 'Way'.
