Foreigner is a band that I grew up with because my dad loved AOR and Lou Gramm in particular, their greatest hits CD was on regular rotation in my household and during car rides.
The first time I listened to "4" I really enjoyed it, the amount of recognizable hits made it a joy and I liked the deep cuts too, but upon a dedicated listen I found it to be a bit surface level, but still pretty fun.

A fairly unsurprising album of 80s rock. I enjoyed plenty for me to call 4 a good album, at least it most certainly was a step up from the predecessor. Foreigner definitely doesn't appear among the most creative bands of that time, but they did provide enough big hits here, so this was entertaining enough.
