Some absolutely classic pop rock!!
I got into Foreigner not too long ago, and I caught this at the record store for just a dollar a few weeks back. Finally, I got around to listening and vibing with this record a day ago, and I'm into it.
Songs like Cold As Ice and Feels Like The First Time are classics that my dad used to play in the car, and they're excellent. I really thought this would be noticeably cheesy like 4, but its really low key and normal for a late 70s pop rock ... read more
Well put together 70s classic rock record with those added late 70s subgenres and charm. The self titled debut of Foreigner starts off steady, keeping this album clean of masterpieces and weak songs, opting for a more solid start, which turned out to be a successful strategy. May not be the most original work I've heard from 70s, but I had fun with the songs, some of them being some very special highlights.
There's quite a few things to talk about here. I have a feeling that the two first ... read more
Foreigner really shine with an epic soundscape and impassioned vocals from the very start. Some very fun songs with a lot of meaning behind the lyrics. I really love the sound of this record from the instrumentation to the vocals smooth delivery throughout. The closer 'I Need You' sounds massive and is a perfect wrap up for the album. I really enjoyed this.

The band's entire performance, particularly the vocals, which are strong and well-controlled throughout the record, elevates a few tracks that may seem a little weaker than the ... read more
As an AOR fan, This is just my least favorite AOR band i think, They just sound super generic, Sure they have great albums but i can't lie this one is mediocore
Finally listening to this. Foreigner's self-titled debut record is exactly what you'd expect from an arena rock band: Hard, sharp, high energy and, at times, balladesque and emotional. Although, I have to admit I was shocked by seeing some semi-progressive elements in their music, which may have happened because of Ian McDonald having a lot to do with the development of each track. There's nothing brilliant and/or forward-pushing in here, but everything is very well crafted and ... read more
