Although D12 will have to formulate a few adjustments to their recent album, Devil’s Night is overall a solid debut and will showcase the hidden talents that lie in the trenches of the Motor City.
That’s D-12’s saving grace: they’re funny. There’s a lot of laughs on ‘Devils Night’. Problem is, those that aren’t hollow are too close to the bone for comfort.
The balance between humor, shock, raw talent and psychosis that Eminem achieved on his last two albums is off. Before, at least, you got the sense that he was muddling his way through his rage, using music as therapy. On Devil's Night, Eminem is waist-deep in the crap. And his buddies aren't pulling him out.
It's very difficult to see the tough-talking Devils Night as anything other than a slightly tweaked re-run of The Marshall Mathers LP.
Devil's Night — the first disc by the Detroit hip hop posse ... is neither reflective nor less hardened. It’s where Eminem throws his success in our faces; even though he’s only on roughly half of it, Devil's Night affirms that he can make and release any kind of music he wants.
Too immature and redundant for my taste, but the highlights (American Psycho, Purple Pills, Fight Music) are mandatory listening for Em stans.

No. Not really.
To start off let me introduce every member from best to most dogshit. Eminem is the one everybody knows and- I shouldn't need to ... read more
Bizarre is seriously the only reason why this album isn’t perfect, In my opinion. Seriously, all of them have great chemistry together; they all seem to be having fun on this album. They can go from a fun and silly song that can make you laugh to being harsh and almost murderous, then slaughtering mics. They all play a role in this album that makes it so fun while also having fantastic technical abilities. The sad thing is that you often don’t hear people talking about ... read more
Devil's Night is a great album with a weight holding it down. Swifty, Kuniva, Kon, Harry & Shady deliver hard verses throughout the the project. However, Bizzare's terrible and pointless shock value lyrics drag it down IMMENSELY. If there's one thing Steve Berman was right about, he was right about Bizzare...
