This is so fucking funny please listen to it. Hearing AFI make songs that sound like CHVRCHES b-sides and Ninja Sex Party deep cuts made my week.
On a roadtrip we listened through the AFI catalogue. Their obscured punk beginnings, the mesmerising highs of transformative ‘Sing The Sorrow’ and metamorphosis into commercial success at the height of emo on ‘December Underground’.

I mean - they tried something new and it does work, but its one of those albums that is completely forgettable at the same time.
Even as a big AFI fan i must say this thing is kinda mid. Even if it is better than blood by a landslide in comparison it still feels kinda weird and boring at points. This is a blend of new wave and a little pop punk and while not bad it aint something special, every song sounded almost the same. Kinda dissapointed ngl

Fave songs: Escape from los angeles, tied to a tree and looking tragic which are pretty solid everything else is mid though

This pop punk band went new wave and it went about as well as every other band would go if they made this transition. It is almost impossible to differentiate between verses and choruses on all of the tunes.
