Exhibiting some of his strongest songwriting to date, Fun is a rewarding record that never loses its initial, visceral appeal.

A worthy studio-debut after decades of success self-recording and self-releasing. He'll be dearly missed

I do not understand why someone would chose to listen to this compared to his early works unless you truly cannot handle the lofi. It feels so polished that half of Daniel's personality and charm got smoothed out. It feels really playful, as though the new breathe of instrumentation is being played for the sake of joy instead of recording. All of that said, My Little Girl might be the most inventive song in the entire Johnston canon, shockingly forward-thinking with how little structure it ... read more
