As a Gizz fan, it feels wrong that I’ve never listened to Phish before. Today, I’m remedying that! Rift is perhaps Phish’s most acclaimed work, and it’s easy to see why right from the get go. The opening title track crawls around with off-kilter rhythms and dissonant vocal harmonies, while the following “Fast Enough For You” completely contrasts it with psychedelic atmosphere and gorgeous guitar work. Pretty good. This is legitimately my first time listening to a full Phish album and I honestly enjoyed it. The title track for one is amazing and very entertaining being that it’s almost 7 minutes long.
