it only took me maybe half of one song to fall deeply in love with Karina Gill's voice. in terms of tone, intonation, and delivery, she's a perfect elaboration of all the best tendencies of my favorite slowcore and lo-fi vocalists. the songs are constructed in a simple way but the emotions are complex, and the general vibe is a decelerated indie pop, or maybe drear pop instead of dream pop. it's too bedroomy and lo-fi to be too much like Camera Obscura but that's a close neighbor to the sound ... read more

Gorgeous lofi outsider bedroom indie rock/pop that will be slept on by most, but loved by that certain type of listener. Cindy has the ear for aesthetics, which can mean more to me than all the guitar chops in the world. The B-side is especially good.
