This roof-raising postscript to The Smashing Pumpkins’ latest album emphasizes their feverish, nerd-gone-haywire electric side, and at least two of its songs — the Gen-X anthem ”Mouths of Babes” and the breezy anti-love song ”Pennies” — are must-owns.

A pretty decent EP all around with a few pretty good highlights. None really reach the level of the title track (which is one of Smashing Pumpkin's best tracks in general, in my opinion) but there are still some great moments scattered throughout this thing. The only track which it's difficult to really recommend is Pastichio Medley, the final track. It's a 23 minute monster track full of <10 second clips of different musical ideas. Pennies and Zero are absolute classics

I'm such a big fan of all these Mellon Collie single/EPs that give us so many great B-sides from one of SP's greatest eras. Starting off with the Zero EP, this one has stronger metal influence than most of the other EPs, which isn't that much of a shock given SP have dabbled in metal before and are directly inspired by metal acts as well.Some tracks here like God and Pennies are some of SP's best B-sides and could've been on Mellon Collie.
