Supernova, the duo’s second album, is a kaleidoscopic mosh-pit in which disparate genres are not so much traversed as smashed together.
Nova Twins stand proud amongst UK rock’s brightest talents, but don’t try to put them in any tightly defined box. This pair are writing the rules now. Follow, or else.
On their sophomore album, Amy Love and Georgia South marry politically charged lyricism with a searing amalgamation of genres, producing an album that practically begs to be experienced in a full-throttle live setting.
Supernova basks in its own raw originality and kicks any naysayers to the curb with its unforgettable impact.
In a fairly barren landscape of heavy guitar-led groups in the mainstream, Nova Twins buck that trend and Supernova (with the tracks perhaps standing out better on their own rather than as a collection) is an excellent second step in the band’s journey which promises so much more to come.
There’s no concession to ‘playing nice’ at any point, and ‘Supernova’ is all the better for it.
Around their 2020 debut album Who Are The Girls?, the duo's hyper-charged clash of modernist metal, rap, industrial rock and snaking R&B drew comparisons to Enter Shikari and The Prodigy, and this second album brings the heft and enormity to make them serious contenders.

Seriously, this shit bangs keep an open mind
I listened to this. I still haven’t gotten past how much I disliked these lyrics on track 4.
Get my fucking crowbar
Take you to the graveyard
Bitch you think you're so hard
I say when it's over
Love you psycho
I'm loaded like a riffle
Casanova
Look over your shoulder
Get my fucking crowbar
Take you to the graveyard
It’s like, no. This just isn’t my thing.
Now this is way more up my alley! The production on here has had a massive upgrade from their last album & they've gone for an industrial sound that really suits them vocally. The songs have their own identites but are still able to stay cohesive; I've criticised them for having repetitive songs so this was a massive improvement.
I think the biggest problem is the lyrics. As others have said they can be very juvenile and awkward. The instrumentals and delivery manage to savlage ... read more
