My rating for Possessions is part of the initial batch of scores that I summarily imported to AOTY from RYM when I joined the site, and as such it's been hopelessly outdated pretty much from mid-November 2022 when I adopted my current rating method and scale.
It took me a very long time to revisit it mostly because I remembered not being very impressed by it, and finally going back to it I can definitely see why.

a bit of a step up from the self titled record in terms of production, performances, and overall immersion. the miki berenyi feature was cool
i think some of the charm that resonated off the previous album was left at the door but only marginally. i think blushing and their team did a great job with this. it’s easy to tell a lot of attention to detail and love was put into each of these tracks. some tracks stick the landing more than others. as a complete package however, possessions is ... read more
