2024 AOTY so far:
i knew Magdalena Bay were destined to be something special after hearing glimpses of innovation and boundary pushing ideas on Mercurial World. the ethereal dreamscape that is Imaginal Disk takes all of this and does it in an even more conceptually consistent way. they take modern pop to the stratosphere by blending in elements of progressive and psychedelic rock, dance-pop, and soul. it is evidently clear they are at the forefront of an entirely new genre. all of this is ... read more

never thought i'd hear doom metal like grooves incorporated so seamlessly into modern pop. this band continuously surprises me.
