While this isn’t the most technically exciting or impressive black metal album I’ve heard, it still packs quite a punch as it pummels the eardrums for 46 minutes.
All the tracks are great, and some even better! This album can easily stand toe-to-toe with the best Immortal records. The riffs are pure Abbath: icy, melodic, and badass. The guitar tone is just chef’s kiss, the atmosphere is on point, and Abbath’s vocals are, as always, top-notch. While this isn't anything special, and I didn't really get much out of it, it was still a fun listen. I'm not the most familiar with Immortal's music yet, but this was still fun. I know Abbath isn't the most serious character, which helped me enjoy this more.
