I love regulate but they bring this sort of confused band that practices in moms basement vibes. You can kind of hear an identity crisis on this album. Songs fluctuating between traditional cro-mags hardcore, Coheed and cambria vibes, pop punk vibes, and a turnstile impersonation.
I am missing the personal storytelling, the political outrage, and the pure energy.
I discovered these guys indirectly through my current obsession with all of Parker Cannon's work I can find. No Pressure and Regulate recently toured together, and I when I saw a YouTube short of Parker Cannon moshing to Regulate, I knew I needed to check them out. I definitely wasn't expecting this much actual ~singing~ but I'm not mad at it. A cool blend of melody and tough guy stuff that I'm sure will pop up more in 2023.
