E-40 is a rapper i wanted to check out for a really long time.
Since i'm a sucker for old school west side hip hop, I had this E-40 itch i needed to scratch lately for some reason.
This EP or mixtape or whatever this is, is something i haven't listened to in a while, that trademark laid back gold school Cali production.
And 40's unique delivery that is so great thanks to his natural slang is a huge plus.

E-40's real breakthrough was still about a year away, but this near-album-sized EP is strong enough to keep fans from getting too hungry while In A Major Way is in the works. The real significance of this project is that it foreshadowed a slight evolution in the way E-40 carried himself, both musically and lyrically. As an outsider looking in, I've always been intrigued at how E-40's music just captivates me with ease.
I've been introduced to E-40 many moons ago, but there used to be a local TV channel that showed music videos all day and "Captain Save a Hoe" was one video that was on damn near every day, as well as "Practice Lookin' Hard".
