MUNA don't quite manage to separate themselves from the pack of artists with a very similar sound. It is a promising debut, though, with a pleasingly direct lyrical approach, very assured vocals, and enough songs with sharp enough hooks ("Loudspeaker"), emotional punches ("Winterbreak"), or both ("End of Desire") to make it worth the effort to check the record out.

Muna’s emotive debut album , the 2017 released About U has to be hands down one of my favourite albums in recent years. An alternative perspective in modern pop music, About U conquers an authentic representation of queer and female narratives, reflecting on both personal and social issues making for an extremely relatable and enjoyable album.

I had actually heard and enjoyed "If You Love Me Now" whenever I was just listening to recommendations casually a few years back. Neat to see what the rest of the album that track is like. Would preferred if more of the overall experience was like the mentioned song, but this is a nice debut from MUNA with a better back half.
