Not only is it hard to get the gist of [Ray] Davies' narrative, but there's not enough, musically or lyrically, to make it compelling.

How is this so low rated? Its weird as fuck, hilarious and better than their mediocre filler albums. If this record came out in the 90's, the alt crowd and Noel Gallagher fans would've loved it.

THIS ALBUM IS INSANE!!! This is kind of odd of a record, like this album isn't really a kinks' album. To me, it is more than a Ray Davies' album more than a kinks' album. The album is really silly, like really really silly. The album is kind of a mess and it is something, I guess. There's some good songs and there's some stinkers too, but this is the weakest one (or probably Preservation Act 2) of the rock opera era. It is just an album of music.

At least this one has a message I can get behind (have another drink, it'll make you feel better).
