When we think of the 60s, we necessarily think of the Beatles, the Stones or the Who, yet we tend to quote the Kinks second only to the Kinks, which is actually a huge mistake. So.. they've been heavily influential on some britpop bands and definitely influential even after them considering the garage rock of the 2000s. So I got around to this 32 minutes LP. And considering I don't know anything about the Kinks other than the aforementioned.. contrary to the average rating and opinion here... this is quite good.

Preface: I listened to the 'deluxe' version of this LP on spotify.
A lot of this surprisingly holds up despite being half a century old. The lyrics, however, make me feel a certain way, not a good way that is. A lot of it feels like manipulative fuckboism with a 60's aesthetic. But even when the lyrics suck it still makes you want to dance, that's how catchy it is. Probably the worst song on the whole lot is 'Stop Your Sobbing'. Here is a snippet:
