Radiance

like many of Basic Channels music, Radiance pushes the boundaries of what "techno" is and it kind of comes out as this weird muddied messy... work of art. i don't know... this one is very weird at times, especially at the aquatic sounding last song which feels like normal techno drenched in water, but i fw it a lot. the noise at 3 minutes was also really weird, but worked well at creating this serious techy atmosphere that i enjoyed. this being the lowest rated basic channel ... read more

Basic Channel ride the tide they started on their previous album "Quadrant Dub" and trajects towards and even more loose & ambient atmosphere. I think it sacrifices some qualities that made the previous albums so special in the process — this doesn't have the same hypnotizing, rhythmic intricacies that Phylyps Trak or Quadrant Dub did.
