you gotta love a concept album.
its a standout in the Gorrilaz discography with some really high quality production.
im really happy that this album has its own theme that matches with the sound. and that sound, sounds GOOD. unlike what they did with Cracker Island, this album has an original sound.
i love the blend of the Indian and foreign instrumentals and the Gorillaz traditional sound. all the synths and stuff.
some songs are weaker, but collectively, i love this and i think its all so ... read more
bbno$ hate is getting to much. its honestly really not that bad of a song and a very nice refresher from his typical sound.
it really sounds like he has been doing some reflection and has came back more tame.
give the man a break, he seems like such a nice guy.
jhariah is finally finding his feet in writing beautiful music with deeper meanings. if this is his sound for his future albums, then his discography might be pure gold.
a very under-appreciated album and definitely worth a listen. trust me. (get it? because trust ceremony? yeah im sorry.)
i’ve listened to this album a few times. why and how does it get better every single time.
the production on this album is so fascinating and so perfectly executed. especially when compared to the themes of the songs.
plus, you gotta love the weird sci-fi noises that play in the background of the start of most of the songs. i dont even know what that means but i love sci-fi stuff.
ive heard that people dont like the excessive screaming on this record, fair enough. but, i think that ... read more
i was very tired whilst writing this so sorry if it doesnt make any sense.
very chill dance music. the type of stuff that you would just kinda move your arms around to and nod your head. maybe add a bit of swaying in there aswell. for the most part anyway.
makes excellent background music.
the songs by themselves are pretty great and consistently so but when you look at it as a collective, its just good. nothing else. just hollow good.
im just happy that Gorillaz are still going stong. this ... read more
lots of talk about sex and relationships but, in traditional Weezer fashion, its not cringe or awkward.
plus, the raw production style is a nice relief from all the production-perfectionist albums. it gives the album a more genuine feel and a more welcoming listen. its like a little live performance.
ending the album with an acoustic track is a bold move but i admire how well it wraps everything up. its similar to how an average performance ends, on a calmer note. (not all of the time ... read more
why am i surprised that the Pimp To a Butterfly B-sides are good. that album is already amazing.
this album is not for me.
i dont speak french so ive had to plainly judge the album by how it sounds. its loud. too loud. sounds like its just being loud for no reason even though there might be a reason but i just dont understand it.
the two songs that were in english were also probably my least favourite anyway.
i think its just doing to much but at the same time, not enough. its like when youre really tired but youre pretending to be energetic so you dont embarrass yourself in front of ... read more
is it live or is it not? WHO KNOWSSS!!!!
but honestly, a refreshing way to listen to these select few songs. im all here for it.

I've Got Some Falling to Do - 84

i actually had a lot of fun with this.
some real upbeat songs on here that arent doing anything special but do provide and nice, satisfying listen.
i saw geek-rock and was interested immediately. very glad i listened to this.
better then i expected but still not flawless. still good, none the less.
i dont like overusing autotune in music. it feels unnatural. i struggle to take "I might say something stupid" serious when it sounds like a robot singing it.
i dont typically mind when some lyrics dont rhyme but i also dont think it should be overused throughout an album. in BRATs sake, it just feels incomplete. like a draft rather than a fully finished track.
i definitely do respect the more venerable ... read more
definitely not worth 1000 American dollars but the poems arent to bad
i dont like giving albums a perfect 100 score, but when it comes to the best most beautiful video game soundtrack ive heard in my life, its a different story.
P.S. im really annoyed that half my song rating got completely deleted so ive had to just make a guess as to what some of them were. most of them are accurate but theres the occasional one that isnt what i put it as before. sorry bout that.
hot take: this isnt the best thing ive ever heard but is just in fact kinda alright but also pretty good.
actual music wise, this is so good. its beautifully produced, preformed, written, ect ect. this is really high-quality stuff, but i just dont think that its for me. i think the main reason is just that its very basic. its not doing anything special. (sorry if that upsets you).
the songs are beautiful but can sometimes lose my interest because of how long they drag occasionally. im really ... read more
this is my type of abused fax machine music.
it sounds like they were taking a lot of pills during the making of this album and none of them were chill-pills.
can get overwhelming but its funny beep-boop dance music so who cares. but honestly its a fun listen.
that was actually really bad.
the lyrics are very good... sometimes... maybe if he actually tried to deliver the lines in most of the songs, they would sound better. plus, this guy does not know how to write a good chorus for the life of him. its real sad.
i really like albums where the music sounds like the cover. for the most part this is not one of those albums. really good cover though.
i think i can tell he is trying to incorporate comedy into some of the songs. its not funny, if thats ... read more
im biased. why? because i made this. i made this for free in GarageBand on my ipad and then posted it onto Soundcloud because im sad.
overall its not actually very good but of course i have a small soft spot for it. and plus, its not finished yet. most the songs are still in development. i just wanted to get them out into the wilderness.
of course i like some of my songs but then again i dont. i dont know. its weird.

a very mixed bag. some songs i dont like, some i think are fine, some pretty good, and some amazing ones. it really just falls in the middle.
i definitely still really like this goofy album and will listen to some of the songs unironically.
overall, pretty neat listen.
