this show had no right to be as slandered as it was

i've loved LG FUAD for a while but neglected to listen to the whole album and damn this is just straight killer no filler

saving this so i dont lose it

many of these are my favourite settings for the given chants and the choir performs them absolutely beautifully <3

i thought the tattoos around his neck and the splash of water to the left were a collar and leash

instrument of surrender deserves a 98, one of the best songs of any piece of media ever

i do not think this game could've been scored better, but i havent listened to the album cover-to-cover so i dont want to rate it yet; but for what it does for the game, it deserves more than a 100

production isnt great and the narrative resolves too suddenly... i think if the production were better then the ending would've been more impactful for me
nonetheless, lovely lyrics and compositions!!

i suppose the empty space between the songs is a turn-off for me... ive tried both the CD and vinyl versions and neither really strikes me frankly, with the long gaps between songs... many of the moments also just felt kinda cliché after hearing other godspeed projects from this period (LYSFLATH and HHLUABSOLSGTCOOR)
still very enjoyable though!! just not as much as the other godspeed projects ive heard so far; i hope the next stuff i hear doesnt follow the same trajectory

i found it to be a very enjoyable listen but im not sure i'll ever have any desire to listen again

i like the musical ideas on the album, some tracks have really catchy melodies and good production (especially "the mind electric" and "white ball"), but i find many other parts offputting as well, ESPECIALLY the over-reliance on vocoder vocals (which are really quite grating to listen to!). also some production decisions (such as the first half of the mind electric being in reverse) make no sense either conceptually or stylistically. i don't hate how they sound, they ... read more

i think im slowly realizing that i wont like my favourite albums as much on first listen and that only after 20 or so listens i realize how much i love them
a few songs on this thing instantly became favourites but i rlly took time to fall in love with everything else here and yeah i love this a lot, i listen in full like three times a week
the only track i think really hinders it is the fucked jam but after listening so much ive stockholm syndromed myself into enjoying it in album context

sorry carl if you see this but i found this to be at most mildly enjoyable

the only argument against ITCOTCK being perfect is the existence of this album

the piano on "broken chords can sing a little" sounds almost exactly like the piano on "cancer towers" from LYSFLATH and it somewhat bugs me even though this album came out first

i keep reading criticisms of this album that just say "it's underdeveloped ITAOTS" or "it's just not as good as ITAOTS" over and over again without ever actually explaining why they feel that and it's driving me insane!!! it feels like people are just parroting the popular viewpoint over and over again without coming to an opinion themself
