just didnt feel this, i liked the clipse verse tho, i think im just tired of JIDs rapping style
I did not enjoy the cameron winter album but this felt like an entirely different thing to me.
my major problem with heavy metal was that it had good instrumentals but the vocals did nothing for me, this record has more “heavy” instrumentals and more varied vocal deliveries making me enjoy it way more, i will now revisit Cameron Winter record and see if i change my mind
The mixtape starts with context which is honestly a really nice intro introducing us to some of the context of what he wanted to get across in this record. I really like his observation about distractions and not processing what youre actually goong through.
Onto the rest of the mixtape:
i really like the sound of it, it starts with stick which has a really beautiful chorus. I fond the tracks sonically quite similar to eachother which i find adds to the experience and makes the albums pacing ... read more

VHS starts with a catchy but long intro track that i dont really like, its really repetitive and makes listening to it really tedious, it does pick up by the end when he finally starts singing, the synths are really nice and kinda recovers the track by the end. i really like Quadecas production with synths. the biggest problem i have with this track is that i dont really feel like it builds any momentum for the record and halts pacing.

I wish freddie gibbs rapping on kenny beats beats wasnt so boring to listen to
Production is incredible and varied, i personally prefer every kenny segal track to the others but they still good
After the release i have barely interacted with this album and that is due to it being extremely haunting, its not like scary to listen to but engaging with the album feels exhausting due to its political themes and subject matters.
It is extremely draining to listen to but thats part of its charm
The production is grandiose in the most obnoxious way possible and the rapping is on i guess but it feels like hes rapping about literally nothing
This album has such a rich sound and feels like the culmination of Mckinley Dixons other works. This work manages to top all his other works
Very good dance/hiphop album
But i cant lie this is not something i really want rn i liked the more melodic tracks tho
Pharell used to know how to sing, the beats arent bad like hell hath no fury
I think this is their best ive heard
Theres two things pharell dont seem to understand
1. how to sing
2. Israel is commiting a genocide
For these i deduct 10 points from the overall score
on release i didnt really like any tracks off this, but with a little bit of waiting almost every track has a certain catchiness to them that just work, i especially respect Ghais for being so creatively versatile going in a direction very few seem to like for some reason, when the album itself works great and the hate is overrated
Sound collage is such a cool genre, i struggle taking in everything tho but the sound of it was great even if i struggled to process it
Good album like the mix between electronic and guitars throughout the album
