Phil Tougas is genuinely one of the best guitar players of the last decade I will not be taking any questions at this time
To copy my review of the 2023 Worm album Starpath: Yes I really enjoy the guitar playing of Phil Tougas, how could you tell
Good God this band is derivative, maybe on their debut album they’ll find an original idea
Some of yall just don’t like fun music I think
Very Everlasting Spew death metal, they certainly have a type they like on their label
2 and a half hours of poor performances, instrumentals that change genre on a whim, and completely incoherent songwriting
Reminds me of Ulcerate mixed with the vocals of a shoegaze band
Why does every song have to have a “this is just jokes don’t take it serious” skit at the end can’t we just make garbage rap songs without the pretend self awareness at the end
Yes I really enjoy the guitar playing of Phil Tougas, how could you tell
I love music that sounds like a blender being put through a wood chipper with occasional piano I guess
Oh and I just want to mention it’s not neoclassical metal because there’s piano in there sometimes, neoclassical metal is explicitly different than neoclassical music. Yes this is irrational and dumb but I don’t care neoclassical metal is Yngwie Malmsteen and First Fragment not electronic fart noises with a piano in the background
Better than the last album because they don’t let Chris Barnes have any acapella moments
