Ladies and gentlemen....that was something. There's a lot of bangers here, but they all sound the same for some reason. The production feels both creative and amateurish, lined with blippy crystalline synths and throbbing basslines. The lyrics get pretty dark i.e. abuse and abortion. Robert Smith is here too for some reason. Guess I'm a fan as long as the producer isn't a piece of shit!
BEST TRACKS: Suffocation, Not In Love, Celestica
WORST TRACK: Violent Dreams
Only using one-word song titles goes so hard. This record, and acloudyskye in general, thrives off of that bittersweet, sentimental sound that some of my favorite artists like Porter Robinson and Parannoul have mastered. There is a noticeable dip in bangers past the third song, but the emotional, coarse production helps carry it the rest of the way home.
BEST TRACKS: Surface, Flares, Relay
WORST TRACK: Quicksand
ππππ¨π ππ€ππ¨ ππ¨ ππ€π£π£ππ«ππ£π. Great production with a lot of personality. The sampling and general creativity that went into constructing these beats really impressed me. The track list is quite consistent and every song had elements I enjoyed, though I thought a few of the (very) highly rated tracks were decently overrated. HAZARD DUTY PAY! is not all that, I'm sorry.
BEST TRACKS: REBOUND!, ARE U HAPPY!, DIRTY!
WORST TRACK: π―
πΏππ. This is solid record from a band that can make much better. Like the last π² Gorillaz albums, this one is also synthpop, but it's more artsy than past projects and has a ton of Hindustani instrumentation. While this record is cohesive and features some strong tracks, a majority of songs here have lackluster features, subpar choruses, and a general lack of replayability Gorillaz usually has.
BEST TRACKS: The Sad God, The Moon Cave
WORST TRACK: The Shadowy Light
An unanticipated amount of bangers. The big 3 songs everyone knows from this record are obviously fantastic, but there's plenty of quality to go around throughout this album. All these tracks have luscious, guitar-centric, alt rock foundations with soaring melodies driven by Liam's passionate vocal performances. Why? Why? Why? Whyyyyy???
BEST TRACKS: Champagne Supernova, Morning Glory, Some Might Say
WORST TRACK: Hello
Atmospheric Post-Dronegaze for chuds. All the rifts across this album were pretty great, and I liked the contrast of churning drone noise with expansive industrial synths. The lyrics were misanthropic and overly simple. The mixing was a bit shaky with the autotuned vocals and rifts often getting drowned out by the synths. Might be fire for bedrotting.
BEST TRACKS: Transfigure, Conqueror
WORST TRACK: Old Year
Pink Cellphone would have been borderline decent if the last third of it stayed in the idea box. There's some very substantial, authentic moments here that squeeze out all the heaviness, ambience, and melody you could possibly put into song, but some of the more post-hardcore and instrumental tracks feel out of place-ish. The vocals here rock like a mf.
BEST TRACKS: Cherry Waves, Hole in the Earth, Xerces
WORST TRACK: Pink Cellphone
This album is warm, dreamy, and very easy to get lost in. With a few exceptions, most of these songs flew by me without making enough of a notable impact for me to return to them. I still enjoyed my time with this classic record, but I just wish it could have been heavier and more enthralling at points. I've eaten souvlaki before and it was kinda mid.
BEST TRACKS: When the Sun Hits, Machine Gun, Alison
WORST TRACK: Here She Comes
12-gaugemaxxing. This record is the perfect blend of sad and soothing, providing lush layers of guitars and violins with soft, charming vocals that whisper of self-destruction and hopelessness. Also, these guys know how to properly incorporate a mf piano. It is a bit samey from time to time, but when the concept is this peak, I don't really care lil bro.

Shoegaze and space rock usually make a pretty nifty combo. Despite this record having a RYM Top 100 song on it, I wasn't left overly impressed. There's some great riffs and dense, warm textures, but a majority of this record just comes across as standard, pretty enjoyable shoegaze. Not shabby at all. Might recommend.
BEST TRACKS: Waiting for the Light, Summer's Gone, Evening Calm
WORST TRACK: Stargazer
Bro's voice pisses me off about 10% of the time. Why does he sound like that? Is he stupid? This album has some solid moments that churn with moody ambience. There's abnormal lyrics here that range from interesting to the R-word. Ultimately, this record is longer than it should be, and I don't think there was a single moment here that truly captured my attention.
BEST TRACKS: Cowboy Dan, Bankrupt on Selling
WORST TRACK: Jesus Christ Was An Only Child
I should have saved my "just busted all over my keyboard" joke for this album...Anyways, I've been listening to Nina way before ya'll mfs, and I've always felt she'd thrive making an album where the songs are actually somewhat cohesive and BOOM! She did just that! There is some filler here and there, but this is a really consistent, fun, energetic record that deserves the recognition it's gotten.
BEST TRACKS: It's You, Infohazard, London Song

Homeless people. The pacing here is really great, helping to build up to some of the more standout tracks even if it results in a bit of filler. I particularly enjoyed the heartland rock-oriented tracks, as well as some of the slower ballads. Bro should've been a voice actor with that crunchy tone he's got.
BEST TRACKS: Hang Down Your Head, Time, Downtown Train
WORST TRACK: Diamonds and Gold
This album separated itself from other mediocre folk pop records by excelling at the meat and potatoes of conventional late 60's pop/rock influences. The melodies are consistently catchy and engaging, the vocals are stellar, and the compositions are sneakily distinctive. Things here do fall off a bit towards the end, but there's still several fantastic moments waiting to be heard.

5 trillion ping....and the review's up! This is a lyrically and musically sombre record, showcasing gloomy atmospheres generated via overcast guitar tones and reserved drumming. The very of-the-time vocals are just alright. This record failed to truly immerse me, so I didn't appreciate it overly so and probably won't remember it for long. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS ALBUM COVER BEFORE TODAY.
BEST TRACKS: Disorder, I Remember Nothing
WORST TRACK: Insight
After 10 beautiful years, the grandest album-spanning chronicle in the history of music has arrived at its precipice, swan-diving into mankind's legacy in dramatic and sentimental fashion. I've spent half of my monotonous life immersing myself with this story and band; I can't put into words how much everything they've done means to me. Thank you Tyler and Josh :') Oh, the album is phenomenal too!
BEST TRACKS: City Walls, Drum Show, RAWFEAR
WORST TRACK: One Way
The cover goes hard af. Joplin has strong, raspy vocals that are a bit overbearing at times, as well as a wide vocal range that is underutilized on this record. The instrumentals were decent enough; I liked the brass sections in particular. "Blues" anything just doesn't really align with my tastes at all, but this record could have been much much worse than it was.
BEST TRACKS: Kozmic Blues, To Love Somebody
WORST TRACK: One Good Man
This is a hell of a debut! Super summery, energetic indie rock with modern production that maintains a blithe rawness to it. Henry's vocals have that naturally carefree indie pop vibe that already feels iconic somehow. I also love the Tame Impala-esque electronic peripheral sounds over a definitive rock soundscape. There's something about white boy duos, man...
BEST TRACKS: Sideways, 4:25, Backseat
WORST TRACK: Politix
Ya'll remember the jellyfish jam from SpongeBob? That's literally this entire album.....which means it's objectively peak. Technique illustrates New Order diverging into a sound where electronic shenanigans overshadow their steadfast rock ethos (thus acid house was born). The beats here are catchy as hell, all these tracks bring the energy, and I am fully prepared to shake some ass.
BEST TRACKS: Dream Attack, Round & Round, Love Less
WORST TRACK: Guilty Partner
