Solid first step out of The White Stripes, it's hugely similar but it definitely has a bit more room to breathe and try a few different things. The slower songs, barring Blue Veins, are certainly weaker than the rest but overall it's a good album, and at just over half an hour doesn't outstay it's welcome in the slightest.
Highlights for me are Steady, As She Goes, Level and Blue Veins.
Far better than it should be. The singles are, of course, iconic. But the rest of the album mostly proves its worth. Sure there's a clear divide between singles and album tracks and it's all very of its time, but it's still a real fun listen. The personalities of the girls come through strong and clear which really helps sell some of the lackluster songs.
Highlights for me are Wannabe, Say You'll Be There, 2 Become 1 and Who Do You Think You Are
Tyler honks on that bobo all over this! Did I use that right?
Terrible name. Solid, if unremarkable, covers album. The best song here is the original which is bizarre considering some of the bad stuff they churned out on their last two albums. Still, I enjoyed it, the band sounded good. It may be unnecessary but it's an enjoyable 45 minutes.
Highlights for me are Roadrunner, The Grind and Stop Messin' Around
A change in sound on this one, a lot more piano, more acoustic and even a marimba! I quite like this one, it's nowhere near their best work but it's a nice change of pace... To me it sounds like Jack White is starting to branch out but is being held back by the constraints of being in The White Stripes.
Highlights for me are Blue Orchid, My Doorbell and The Denial Twist.
Apparently there was never a point the band was in the same room whilst recording this, and I think that's pretty apparent. It's a bit of a mess. I have no idea why Tyler thought he'd have a crack at rapping but there's too much of it, some of the transitions from verse to chorus come out of nowhere and the rest of it is mainly power ballads by numbers. I quite like a power ballad, even generic ones, so that's the only reason for the 50 score, otherwise this'd be ... read more
Excellent throughout this one, it has hints of Downward Spiral but it's a lot more of an upbeat album. A lot of the songs go in unexpected directions, and whilst the last few NIN albums have been good, they've also been fairly predictable. I think if it was any longer it would probably be too much but it's the perfect length.
Highlights for me are Copy of A, Came Back Haunted, Various Methods of Escape and In Two.
"Bang your head against a motherfuckin' waaall".
I was tempted guys, very tempted.
So close to being great, it just feels like something is missing. Maybe it's because all future Little Mix songs will held up against Jade's far superior Angel of my Dreams. Still, an enjoyable pop song.
Mixed bag this one, it's good that it seems they were trying out different things but the songs just aren't good enough with a few of them sounding a bit messy. Not terrible, but you can hear they were starting to reach the bottom of that barrel, even the singles, which are usually strong aren't really quite up to scratch... It's also far too long.
Highlights for me are Fallin Love (Is Hard on the Knees), Hole in my Soul and Pink (I know it's ridiculous, but I like it).
I had not heard of Blood Incantation until today and oh Lord have I been missing out! The musicianship on display here is excellent, it's heavy and complex which is all the things I like when it comes to metal and songs go in completely unexpected directions, but without giving you audio whiplash. Now I do have an issue with a lot of death metal singing so a band has to be pretty special for me to listen to them, and this definitely seems to be one of those bands!

This one as a bit more of a blues sound. Unfortunately it sometimes the words and music don't quite gel together, it feels like the songs are being held back by being forced into a blues sound. By no means a bad album, but it's definitely flawed. Tupelo is excellent though!
Highlights for me are Tupelo and Knockin' on Joe.
After the slight misstep of the last album Siouxsie and co. returned with two new members and a, slightly, new sound... and it really works! There's a bit more experimentation here, whilst still being recognisable. They definitely sound refreshed and more polished than their previous two albums, which is a great thing!
Highlights for me are Happy House, Hybrid, Christine and Red Light
Aerosmith have basically made the same album three times at this point and I think the strain is starting to show. There are some really excellent songs, mainly the singles, but everything else is a bit hit and miss. It definitely goes on too long, and it starts to sound a bit samey towards the end. It's still a fun album, but not as strong as Pump.
Highlights for me are Livin' on the Edge, Cryin' and Crazy
I can see why people struggle with this album... it's fairly oppressive in it's sound, but I quite like it. Hell if it wasn't for those last two songs it'd fucking great! I have no idea who thought The Lords Prayer was a good idea, let alone making it 14 minutes long but it definitely ends the album on a low note. However, tracks 2 to 6 are really great and I'd fully recommend giving them a listen!

If this is Crow being herself she certainly sounds bored with herself at times here. You can tell she's trying to recapture her 90's sound, Heartbeat Away sounds like it could have been included on Sheryl Crow. The problem is most of it just sounds a bit pedestrian, it's not bad, just a bit boring unfortunately. Still, it's nice to hear Crow make music that sounds more natural to her than her last couple of albums.
Highlights for me are Roller Skate and Heartbeat Away
The White Stripe's best album, it's not anything majorly different to what came before it's just a lot stronger material. I would say there's a perfect album in here there's just a few songs here and there that are a bit weaker.... mainly that three song space after I Just Don't Know What to Do With Myself and the final song. Everything else is top tier.
Highlights for me are Seven Nation Army, Black Math, Ball and Biscuit, The Hardest Button to Button and Girl, ... read more
It's Permanent Vacation just tighter, with more variety and more consistent... also, its just a fucking good time. The singles are really the standout, Janie's Got a Gun is one of my favourite Aerosmith songs, but the rest is more than good enough to warrant a listen!
Highlights for me are Going Down/Love in an Elevator, Water Song/Janie's Got a Gun and What it Takes
Let's start with the good, P!nk's voice sounds excellent and the production is really good but apart from a couple of really good songs the rest is kinda mediocre. A lot of P!nk's albums are messy and all over the place, but I don't think you could ever call them bland or boring... this is one is definitely heading in that direction. I don't hate it, there are some good songs and the two lead singles are pretty excellent it just seems like the creative well is starting ... read more
Honestly this is better than I thought it was going to be. There's a few skips here, sure, but nothing bad. Gaga sounds like she's having fun and the band sounds good! The Gaga originals are also pretty good as well, nothing too interesting is going on but it's competently put together. I think the back half of the album is overall stronger, The Joker is such a banger as well.
Highlights for me are The Joker, Happy Mistake and That's Life
