It's definitely a classic Motown hit but I've never been the biggest fan of it, the instrumental just isn't as good when compared to some Supremes singles for example. Still it's hard to dislike classic Motown like this.

Decent song, it sounds a lot like most of their other hits from the time but that's understandable cause they had a good thing going. 70/100 seems about right.

It can't really compete with some of their other big 60's hits like I get around but it's still a good song.

Another great song by them, it makes sense why they were by far the biggest act of the 60's

Just an all around bad song, I don't like the way it's sung and I also dislike the played up English accent. Or maybe he actually talks like that, it doesn't make it any better in the song though. The instrumental is also nothing to write home about

Another mediocre British invasion number but it's slightly better than the previous number one "I'm telling you now". The singing is way less annoying and I also think the instrumental is slightly better.

British invasion number with rather annoying singing. The instrumental completely fine, but it can't really save the song.

The chorus to this song is iconic, but honestly I'm not sure I like it, I find it almost a bit annoying. The rest of the song is great though, the singing and instrumental is on point as to be expected.

(Review only for "Eight days a week")
This is in my opinion the worst of the Beatles early number ones, but it's still a pretty decent song. I like the guitar in the short intro and outro, but the otherwise the song is just really unnoteworthy.
70/100
Edit: I completely forgot about Love me do when writing this, that one is definitely the worst of the Beatles early number ones over this.

I love it, the singing is superb, as is the instrumental. It's definitely one of the best Motown hits and probably one of the best #1's of the 60's just in general.

It's perfectly fine, hard really to find much to say about this song.

Great song, the singing is superb and I really like the instrumental. I do kind of think the song gets worse as it goes on, but even then it's still great. This song was also apparently the most played song on american radio of the entire 20th century, which is a pretty fun fact.

(Review is only for "Downtown")
The instrumental is great (except for whatever that instrument was at the end, what was that about?) , but the singing doesn't click for me, especially the DOWN-TOWN! screaming from the chorus sounds just bad to me.

Great singing and great instrumental, I like the very brief guitar solo. Maybe you could say that it get's a bit repetitive but I don't think that's a problem here.

A big improvement from their first two singles in my opinion. The difference is in the instrumental, I like the one from this song much more than that of "Baby Love" and "Where did our love go", which had very similar instrumentals to each other. Otherwise Diana Ross sings well here as usual. Just an overall great song.

Definitely Vinton's best remembered number one, and in my opinion also his best overall. Still that doesn't mean I think it's anything special, it's perfectly listenable but a bit boring.

A story song that feels a bit old-school for 1964 to me. I'm not the biggest fan of this type of song, but this one is OK I guess.

Not a big fan of this song, it's way too ridiculous. The instrumental is quite good actually, but the singing, the sound effects, the spoken word and so on are just too much for me.
