Definitely not what I usually listen to, but it was a great listen. So many great tunes, and it's different than the usual ranchera music because it has prominent orchestral and baroque pop elements. Do yourself a favor and listen to this.
I've been listening to Lanegan's new albums ever since I started following new album releases back in 2015. Gargoyle was an excellent record, and was top 100 of the decade for me. However his last two records (last year's Somebody's Knocking and this solo album) suffer from the excessive length problem. I'm the first one to admit that his delivery can be very monotone. I have to be in the right mood to enjoy ghostpoet, but when I am, it hits hard. And this is his best and most diverse collection of songs yet.
Absolute monster of an album. More catchy, epic and progressive than anything they've released and it goes toe to toe with Monoliths for their best album. One of the best metal releases this year, hell even this decade
Too short and very overhyped/overrated, but it is also really good. One of the better death metal records of this year definitely
