Just endless fun. Got better for me after a couple of listens.
Definitely the modern-day take on the Beastie Boys, which I honestly enjoy a lot, with a lot of current internet references and awesome beats. Absolute improvement on all fronts from PUNK TACTICS.
All over the place. Listened to it with a friend and every single song left us wondering what the hell was next. It seemed like each beat kept getting more and more bizarre, Ski indulges in some R&B indie pop type shit sometimes, and there is also a handful of Simba and Lion King references. Some good takeaways but for the most part pretty messy.
Actually crazy that Drake had this in him, even crazier that he couldn't even bring this shit back for Kendrick.
Sonically, quite a good lo-fi sort of vibe.
Lyrically, a boring and tacky slog through the course of 1 hour and 30 minutes.
And this shit DID NOT need to be 1 hour... and 30 minutes.
This album is the only thing Ak has had a good opinion on, and that opinion is falling asleep on stream.
+70 for nice soundy sounds
-40 for dogshit lyrics
To this day, I don't know how Carti managed to start a new subgenre of hip-hop and almost four years on holds the title for the best album in its field (aside from Yeat, and Edward Skeletrix if you could call that rage)
For a guy who loves MMLP and The Eminem Show and enjoys some of his more modern styles, I'm quite happy about the sort of blend of the two in what seems to be the lead-up to Em's last album. The concept of Shady and Marshall combining is a cool concept for a final LP, but with how adamant he was on keeping a more modern sound on his latest albums, it feels more fan-service-y than something he actually wanted to do.
Upon further consideration... This is my favourite Gambino album.
I don't get everyone saying that this album feels like a "dumbed-down" or "bland" version of 3.15.20, where all I see is an album that has been DRASTICALLY improved.
This is my first full Chief Keef album, and it is kind of insane how every track feels so full and yet albums that are twice the size can feel so short in comparison. Keef is absolutely insane in his production, and you'll hear it if you listen to any of the drums. I think I might be a Chief Keef fan.
brockhampton deepdive p6 - sweetened
brockhampton fell off. well, not really, because i still love this album. but this one is just a teeny tiny bit worse than all the other ones so far. i feel like there is a bit of uk influence on this album, with things like the collabs with slowthai to how grimy this album can feel at times. songs like BOY BYE, ST. PERCY, IF YOU PRAY RIGHT, and I BEEN BORN AGAIN are fire while being kinda chill, and some flat out beautiful tracks like SUGAR, NO HALO, ... read more
brockhampton deepdive p5 - iridescent
yeah this is better than sat3 gonna be honest. everything about this album, from how it just never feels like it's going on too long, every song is brilliantly produced, and on top of all that this was produced in like a week. brockhampton truly are my goats...
multiple songs from this album i would consider as my favourite from bh overall, such as THUG LIFE, BERLIN, WEIGHT, DISTRICT, J'OUVERT, i could go on man.

BROCKHAMPTON DEEPDIVE PT4 - SATURATED (THE BEST ONE)
CERTIFIED. BANGER. ALL THE FUCKING WAY THROUGH.
I cannot express how much BROCKHAMPTON went OFF with this album, with absolutely banging songs like BOOGIE, ZIPPER, STUPID, and ESPECIALLYYYY SISTER BRO. DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ABOUT SISTER. And then they have literally some of the most beautiful songs of all time like BLEACH, TEAM, and NATION.
This album is a masterpiece to me.

BROCKHAMPTON DEEPDIVE PT 3 - SATURATED THE SQUEAKWEL
I'm gonna be honest. SAT2 is my least favourite SATURATION album. BUT that doesn't mean that some of these songs are the best in the whole trilogy. For instance, JUNKY is one of my favourite songs... maybe ever. That raw passion and intensity just keeps me returning to that track. And another example, the first three track run is one of the best in BROCKHAMPTON's discography just from pure hype.
