I’m gonna be honest, I was not expecting this from Macklemore. I am aware that he’s generally considered progressive in his politics, but I feel as though this is the most direct and cutting he has ever been. This was quite a bit better than I expected. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn is Pink Floyd’s debut album, and it’s pretty far removed from what they would eventually go on to make. While 70s Pink Floyd made songs about life, death, greed, isolation and emptiness, 60s Pink Floyd wrote psychedelic jams about gnomes and scarecrows.
