After nearly a decade of experimentation and innovation, talking heads take on their most daring musical venture, making songs that are bad.
the songs are too long and the production is kinda hot ass. listenting to love for sale for the first time is a jumpscare with how it starts with those overproduced guitar and drums. i only really somewhat enjoyed People Like Us and City of Dreams cause they kinda tone it down which is what this album desperately needed.
also while i'm ... read more

a few stinkers here and there (stay up late, walk it down, and give me back my name) but otherwise this aint bad. it's like talking heads but slightly worse songwriting and less experimentation in exchange for clearer production and more approachable songs. if thats ya thing, listen to it.
favs: And She Was, The Lady Don't Mind, Perfect World

GRRRRRRR THIS IS SO GOOD
After how insane Remain in Light was, this is a great way to cut lose with something far more simple, what i mean is that where the previous album gives you african polyrhythmic percussion and compostition creative enough to influence new wave and pop for the years to come, Speaking in Tongues gives you FUNK and GROOVE.
Every song here goes so incredibly hard. I first heard Burning Down the House through the Paramore cover, and i first thought it absolutely ... read more

ugh i hate when my favorite is everyones favorite, makes me feel like a normie. with that said. this album is crazy good.
fav tracks: all of em except houses in motion
this song has better lyrics, instrumentals, production, vocals, composition, than some artists entire discographies. this is a work of art

ohoooooo this is solid
love how much art punk they stuffed in this, every song reminds me of Television's marquee moon which is a good thing cause that album kicks ass. That's kinda why it's difficult to point out why this album is good, it's mostly just a genre i enjoy done really well. If i can point out any highlights it'd be the outro of animals with david byrne sounding like a conspiracy theorist ranting about nuts and berries, the ahead-of-it's-time ... read more
thank god i only rediscovered this song just now. i was in a pretty shitty relationship a while ago and these lyrics were exactly how i felt back then, this song woulda killed me in those days. anyways uhhh this song is a masterpiece, those last two minutes are so fucking peak

I hoped to like this one because i got a shirt for christmas with this cover on it, 'tis a shame i found it to be mid
Most of the songs here are simply not my cup of tea. I don't understand what TYFSMAA is supposed to be with that cowboy-ass tempo but it aint working for me. The riff in With Our Love gives me anxiety with how high it gets in the scale, also it just feels like it goes on forever despite only being like 3 minutes long. Honestly the only song i liked in the ... read more

i swear i'm giving it a 7,7 unironically.
Starts of really well with Love Comes to Town and New Feeling, those are great, and then the run from Tentative Descisions to Who Is It is just straight up bad. they're flat and boring and incredibly forgettable. but everything after that is quite good, i really enjoyed No Compassion and The Book I Read, and also of course Psycho Killer, it's iconic.
am i going insane, this song is literally just fine. the production kinda sucks and makes everything sound muddy, and corgans voice sucks as always but other than that it's just good. in what world do people think this is the greatest single in all human history.
stupid fucking theatercore singing, stupid fucking pop punk instrumentation, stupid fucking band getting popular from covering an actually good song and ruining it. i despise this.
wait this released just a few months ago???? i just recently found it and just assumed it released in like 2014. Anyway this is beautiful
banger EP. a small bite of incredible high tempo shoegaze with top class production, what's not to love?
