this man always brings his best on side projects
Another unique, great album by Poppy.
I love that every single album from her is different. This album has a lot more noise rock and shoegaze material which I really liked and I'm open to listen more like this by her. I feel like the songwriting fell off a little bit from her previous works, lot's of repeating, not as creative choruses and stuff but it's just my opinion.
It could be a way better album if it wasn't this long. Lot's of mediocre Kanye tracks, a few good highlights.
Lingua Ignota's Sinner Get Ready is a very well constructed album, it is one of the most unique sonic experiences I've heard.
This is one of the first albums where I looked deeper into the artist and the lyrics. It is powerful, depressing, in a way beautiful. Kristin's voice sounds raw, emotional and it complements the dark instrumentals beautifully. She uses music for the outlet of her past horrible, abusive experiences, through a Christian worldview.
Personally, I don't see myself listening ... read more
Bruno Mars found a very succesful style in his album, 24K Magic.
Staying with a few styles of music, he makes an album with a lot of very well produced and written music. What he does here isn't experimental or groundbreaking, but manages to use everything perfectly in my opinion.
The album offers songs mostly focused around love and partying. We've got fast party anthems, beautiful slow jam love songs and just simply bangers, which may doesn't sound like a wide palatte, but given it's only 9 ... read more
yep it was a good album for sure, but i feel way too underqualified to rate it
His projects are getting worse. The start feels like a complete copy of IGOR and even the rest of the album sometimes. He just can't sing well and it's a big oof on an rnb-like record. His rapping is decent tho. Sometimes. He really tryna be like his friend Tyler but it's embarrassing.
Honestly I'm really rooting for Jaden, because SYRE was not bad and he has the resources and time to invest in his sound. Sadly the decisions he makes always end up being worse and worse.
For me this album is an obvious step-down from How to be a human being.
I'm kinda disappointed in the path that they took. Previously they were that band that produced indie music that was instrumentally colourful and adventurous with interesting concept ideas.
Now this album is just taking that simple pop-rap sounding path. But it really feels like a sloppy job sometimes. Some tracks feel the same and are forgettable. The concept also is simply just nostalgia, but since it's different for ... read more
Every track on this is really well produced and mixed. You can hear a wide variety of sounds even within the individual "discs". I think A. G. Cook put down something that is for the future and people will look back at this like history that started something new. I was enjoying this project all the way through, and i never felt bored while listening to this, which is surprising due to it being 2 hours and 40 minutes. Definitely worth a listen.
Previously I gave this album a 90 but then I really just thought: what's wrong about this album? Then I realized the answer is nothing.
Overall I feel like that the way the album starts with Brianstorm is just perfect. Definitely one of the most energetic track. Starting with a perfect song it continues what it began until the very end. Every track is perfect overall in my opinion. This album has it all: the energetic garage (skater kinda) rock, the slow melancholic, the beautiful melodic ... read more
Holy shit this slaps! If you ever liked that aggressive, bass dominated Denzel sound this is the project you've been looking for. It doesn't get any better than this. This mixtape doesn't have any major concept to it or thought provoking lyrics but in this case i don't think that's a big problem. This project is just 13 minutes, which really feels like a few minutes because of the non-stop energy this stuff conveys. It's just sad it's not on Spotify.
