Lucy Bedroque - Unmusique

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

15/1/26: Lucy Bedroque - Unmusique

This record has some great moments instrumental wise and some of Lucy's vocal performances are nice but I think this record does lack from originality at times, and maybe Lucy's influences are a bit too obvious to me at times. Whilst that's not the worst thing in the world, some tracks do sound like a Carti filler track. And of course don't get me wrong this album definitely has variety at times and ... read more

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

14/1/26: Imperial Triumphant - Goldstar

A record that has so many filthy riffs over some of the most mindbending, groovy and hypontic grooves I've heard in metal. Outstanding performances and songwriting in general, with each track building up at the perfect points and throwing everything at you when necessary. This should be an essential listen for Metal fans!

Rochelle Jordan - Play with the Changes

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

13/1/26: Rochelle Jordan - Play With The Changes

A proper great UK garage/house record that doesn't have any low points and never loses its energy and feel. There's a bit of everything on this record without having to do much, it all mixes and flows quite nicely and each genre change feels like it happens at the right time to keep things interesting. Highly recommend!

Folk Bitch Trio - Now Would Be A Good Time

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

12/1/26: Folk Bitch Trio - Now Would Be A Good Time

Unfortunately a fairly run of the mill folk record from the trio. I enjoy some of the production and the performances are nice but I think it lacks in songwriting at certain stages, making it difficult to really grasp on to something for me as a listener. Sarah would be my personal favorite track!

Boldy James & The Alchemist - Super Tecmo Bo
75

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

11/1/26: Boldy James & The Alchemist - Super Tecmo Bo

An enjoyably solid, consistent hip hop record which doesn't breakdown any boundaries or go beyond much but isn't to the point where it falls flat and is uninspiring. Just some nice raps over smooth production, can't go wrong!

ROSALÍA - LUX

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

10/1/26: ROSALÍA - LUX

What an incredibly ambitious, humongous, daring and beautiful piece of work this is from Rosalía. It's amazing to see Orchestral/Classical music be perceived so well and taken care of so well by Rosalía, you can tell she cared so much about this record and was willing to go the absolute limit for this. Whenever you hear artist talk about putting their heart and soul in to a project, I don't think it ... read more

Magdalena Bay - Imaginal Disk

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

9/1/26: Magdalena Bay - Imaginary Disk

I feel so incredibly ashamed that it took me this long to get around to this record, and I feel more ashamed seeing just how fantastic this is. I had obviously heard a couple of the singles from it and thought they were great but it just never registered with me to give it a listen, I think I was just too obsessed with Knocked Loose to listen to anything else.

I can gladly this was well worth the wait, with its ... read more

Ninajirachi - I Love My Computer

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

8/1/26: Ninajirachi - I Love My Computer

Deserves every bit of hype it's getting. Such an insanely fun EDM record that's full of quirky ideas and production. Stays consistent throughout and gets better with each replay!

Shooting Daggers - Love & Rage

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

5/1/26: Shooting Daggers - Love & Rage

A fun solid hardcore record from the queer British trio that has plenty of potential! Their influences might be a bit too obvious at times but at the same time I don't see that as such a bad thing for a band so early in their career!

Cecile Believe - Plucking a Cherry From The Void

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

4/1/26: Cecile Believe - Plucking a Cherry From The Void

I'm not sure what scratches that itch for me with this record but I just know I'm a big fan of this. Cecile is someone I've enjoyed immensely in the past year or so and again I'm really impressed with this! Again I know she's capable of even greater things so I'm excited to see what's to come!

Subsonic Eye - Nature of Things
75

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

3/1/26: Subsonic Eyes - Nature of Eyes

A sweet and lovely indie rock record that has warm production throughout. Solid pacing but I suppose it does lack from some diversity at times which I understand is hard to do with an indie record but I look forward to seeing what else comes from this group! Well worth giving a spin!

Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique - Winter Break
72

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

2/1/26: Five Point Palm Exploding Heart Technique

I thought this was a fun record with a nice mix of traditional pop punk/emo with some theatrical elements throughout! Now that does sound like the most insufferable mix ever I'm fully aware but I think this is executed pretty well and has a cheekiness and charm to it without being overbearing in its theatrics. Enjoyable listen!

Oneohtrix Point Never - Replica

New Album Everyday For a Year 26':

1/1/26: Oneohtrix Point Replica - Replica

I stupidly just did not keep any tracks of these records I was listenting to so I'm gonna have to revisit certain records to remember what I actually thought of them because it feels like I'm just listenting to these albums for the sake of it without really keeping track.

Anyways this is an electric record/artist that's I've always meant to get around to and put more into and I'm a ... read more

Rolling Stones Top 500 albums of all time, reviewed by me.
#487: Black Flag - Damaged

The debut record of legendary punk band Black Flag is by far and away one of the most influential punk records in the history of the genre.

I understand this record isn't for everyone due to its "messiness" in peformances but this has one of the best captures of energy in a record I've ever heard. Like a lot of classic punk records from the 80s, the mixing and again performances have such ... read more

#488: The Stooges - The Stooges

The debut record from the Ann Arbor group, is a record that was incredibly ahead of its time with its rough production and ever so slightly messy peformances were so influential for so many bands to follow suit. The messy peformances gave the band a certain freeing sound in their playing, where it almost feels like a garage band just jamming, except "We Will Fall" just sounds like the group ... read more

Frost Children - SISTER

Adore this record so much! The production has a lot of great energy and a nice feel of nostalgia to it but still feels fresh. In love with the vocal performances all across this whole thing as well, especially on tracks such as "Bound2U", "ELECTRIC", "Dirty Girl" and "Position Famous".

That opening track feels like such a victory lap/ we made it track for the sibling duo and I'm really hoping for a big year for the two of them because the talent is ... read more

Every Time I Die - Hot Damn!

This record holds back absolutely nothing and lays it all out there. Obsessed with literally everything on this whether it's the vocal peformances, tight drum beats, gritty bass tones and some of the most hard hitting metalcore riffs out there. It's got such a great pacing for a 27 minute non stop metalcore record which is not easy to do, but I think 'In the Event That Everything Should Go Terribly Wrong' does some heavy lifting where it's just the perfect point for a ... read more

#489: Phil Spector - Back to Mono (1958-1969)

I know this seems a like a cop out to not review this but to keep it as simple as possible, this is quite literally just a playlist of songs. Don't get me wrong there's actually plenty of tracks I enjoy on this but how do you possibly go about reviewing this?

Also I skipped all of 'The Ronettes' tracks seeing that I've already reviewed their record so it felt ... read more

Rolling Stones Top 500 albums of all time, reviewed by me.
#490: Heart Like a Wheel - Linda Ronstadt

Whilst 'Heart Like a Wheel' is an easy laidback listen, the record as a whole suffers from being underwhelming and uninteresting for the majority of it. I didn't dislike this record by any means but I just felt the songwriting as a whole didn't grip me enough whether it's from an emotional standpoint, a sweet hook that you can't help but gravitate towards or even ... read more

Harry Styles - Harry's House

Rolling Stones Top 500 albums of all time, reviewed by me.
#491: Harry Styles - Harry's House

'Harry's House' is Harry Styles third solo record and whilst it probably sees Harry at his most vulnerable, it does lack some consistency in its care for songwriting.

Personally I've never been the biggest Harry Styles fan but I've always respected him and he's by far and away been the most successful out of all the 1D members. And whilst I'm not the biggest ... read more
