this paired with what she's shown she's capable on songs like NOTHING CHANGES could really combine together to make something really awesome that I would love to hear :D
genuinely one of the best albums ever. I put it off for so long because I thought I wouldn't like slowcore, not even listening to the lead singles. Nettles is quite possibly the best song ever made, the vocals, instrumental, and songwriting on it are top notch in every aspect. The entire project carries the same quality as it's highest highs, with the transcendental vocals from Ethel blowing me away at every turn. Insane showing from her, and I will definitely be keeping up with her ... read more
their best song by a billion miles, but it's still not impressive by any metric, and the stupid auctioneer sample IS SO BAD IT GENUINELY RUINS THE WHOLE FLOW OF THE SONG LMAO
Honestly, every song is perfect, it's just a bit bloated of an experience when you're listening to them all in a row. Crazy pull though, genuinely one of the best albums oat
don't understand how people don't fw yachty's verse bro he goes hard on this
I'm not basing this purely off of music, because how am I supposed to with something like this? I LITERALLY just finished rewatching this movie about 30 seconds before writing this. I'm about as biased as I can get, I've loved Steven Universe since it changed my life as a kid. As much as I love some of these songs, they are pretty much all dragged down by just one thing. If it wasn't for "Other Friends" and Spinel's introduction being so wildly misguided and ... read more
VERY high highs, but pretty inconsistent at times. Holy, Holy is absolutely insane though
My 100th album review. Honestly, my reviews have varied so much in length that I don't really think it's much of an accomplishment. However, this album absolutely is. MF DOOM's second studio album Madvillainy is a masterclass in rhyme schemes, experimentation, and influence. Madlib's abstract beats are perfect on almost every song, and the worst song is not even really that bad, just really out there. From Accordion to Rhinestone Cowboy, you have some of the best rap ... read more
This album would be top 10 OAT without Snow Globes. I love the vocals and variety on this record so much, Basketball Shoes and The Place Where He Inserted The Blade are a couple of my favorite songs of all time. Every track is incredible except Snow Globes, which is just grating and annoying to me. Otherwise perfect album with 100s of hours of replayability on it. Absolute must hear.
Easily one of the best of the year looking back on it. I already loved every song on this project, but man is everything about this LP just nearly perfect. I love the genuine political lyricism that isn't right wing slop, instead addressing the actual problems such as ultra-wealthy elites feeling like superior beings and disassociating with other people, looking down on them. The production is beautiful and incredibly intense at times, masterfully used to emphasize points and slowing down ... read more
Super consistently good flows, really fun beats that cover a genuinely diverse soundscape across the rage genre, and great delivery come together to make the greatest primarily rage album I've ever heard.
91 -> 97
Honestly some of the best replay value of any album from this year, although I might be biased because I've been loving the digicore/rage sound this year. The last 5 songs are all absurdly good, with some of my favorite moments of the year. Definitely listen if you ... read more
