Alex Warren - On My Mind

the most bland and annoying song that’s been released this year, i’m on my knees begging this doesnt start trending on tiktok

Queens of the Stone Age - ...Like Clockwork

This album was much more enjoyable than Songs For The Deaf to me, it was much more cut down, and the songs were generally more enjoyable to me. Definitely a worthy listen.

Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf

I listened to this album with very high hopes, having just heard No one knows for the first time, and it didn't quite live up to the expectations. It just drags on a bit too long for my liking. Feels like the songs overstay their welcome. If this was about 2/3 of the length it is now, I would definitely hold it in a higher regard.

Quadeca - FORGONE

So beautiful and haunting, all the way through. IDMTHY is my personal favorite album of all time, so hearing those ghost-esque vocals was incredible. The way the entire song crescendoes into the climax of "Through it all"s, was just awe inspiring. Quadeca really is the greatest artist of this generation, and is leading towards genuine GOAT status if he drops another VANISHER, HORIZON SCRAPER level project after this.

I agree with most of what I said on release day, just giving it some time to sit it doesn't hit quite like Beloved! Paradise! Jazz?! after a few replays. Things like the drop on F.F.O.L and the general soundscapes just aren't quite as catchy and pristine as the precursor. Still a fantastic album.

When I rate a bunch of stuff as 10/10s in a row, I typically feel like I’m overrating it. I can’t here. The singles are 4/4. The production in unbelievably good. This is my song of the summer. It’s beautiful, high energy, feel good, and the production is so funky and pretty. This might end up being top 10 albums OAT for me. June 6th can’t come fast enough.

Injury Reserve - By the Time I Get to Phoenix

This album is simply one of the most insane experiences created. Ever. If you're going to listen to this, which you should, read the lyrics or pay extra close attention to it. It's such a big part of it. The production is so insane and off the walls at times, while calming down and mellowing out at times that require it. The lyrics hit super hard and get very deep when is called for. It's so moving and honestly feels like Groggs was ripped out of the album and haunts some of the ... read more

McKinley Dixon - Recitatif

THREE TEN OUT OF TENS IN A ROW???? I don't get the hate at all, this might be one of my favorite produced rap songs OF ALL TIME. The rapping is absolutely electric and with the super interesting and phenomenal sounding instrumental it just combines to a literally jaw dropping experience. Absolutely must hear, what an insane song.

Splatoon - Octotune (Splatoon 2 Original Soundtrack)
97

This review covers my opinion on the dedf1sh tracks specifically.

Splatoon's music has always been good, a lot of it being great. This is not anything anyone would expect from a nintendo game. The atmosphere of this soundtrack just perfectly matches the game, while also sounding absolutely amazing. This honestly blew me away in terms of quality. Almost every second of this soundtrack was super enjoyable and I will definitely be coming back to this in the future.

Quadeca - MONDAY

The vocals are some of the best Quad has ever given us. The entire song is pure beauty, and I am absolutely astonished with the level of quality he's jumped up since Voice Memos in just 6 years. He truly might be the greatest artist to do it after this album drops.

Lift to Experience - The Texas-Jerusalem Crossroads

I've been a Christian for my entire life, and was pretty much forced to listen to exclusively gospel music for the first 9 years of my life. I have stayed Christian, but I have a slight disdain for the typical gospel music. This is completely different. This is genuinely one of the greatest sounding albums I've ever heard. It tells a story throughout the entire album, without sounding pretentious or overly preachy. I did not expect this at all going into it. Falling From Cloud 9 might ... read more

yo screw what I said about the beat being mid this goes crazy, just the chorus and clapping sounds were weird, super fun and hype song

Lil Darkie - i'm going CRAZY

what a wonderful and lyrically dense song by lil darkie, not the direction I thought he would take after king of california but definitely appreciated.

Honestly, this album far surpassed my expectations. The extent of my knowledge of Vylet Pony was simply that she was a (female brony? idk the actual term and I can't be bothered), but the vocals and production are absolutely phenomenal. Sludge and Pest are highlights, and I hope to hear more from her soon. 9.1/10

Jane Remover - Revengeseekerz

Loud, exciting, endless replayability, my most streamed album this year and after all these listens probably my favorite of the year as well.

Token - Feral

way better than his other newer stuff but like... that's not super hard to do. The beat is weird and the flow doesn't fit very well on it IMO. I feel like I need to reiterate that this is way better than like the past 5 songs he's dropped, because there's not much else to say.

Black Country, New Road - For the Cold Country

Absolutely fantastic. Only thing I didn't like was the weird mixing at the start, but otherwise SOTY contender.

Magdalena Bay - Killshot

This is one of the greatest songs I have ever heard, genuine shock when spotify auto played it, words can't describe how good this song is.

McKinley Dixon - Could’ve Been Different

Magic, Alive! versus VANISHER, HORIZON SCRAPER is going to be a battle of titans.
