Such a captivating debut. I first came across Nilufer Yanya when she supported Interpol last year and since then I've kept my eye out for her. Her voice and guitar tones really stand out to me, such an exciting release.
Favourite Tracks: In Your Head, Paralysed, Angels, Baby Blu, Tears, Monsters Under The Bed, The Unordained
The worst album to date from the 'mini' supergroup that is Mini Mansions. I saw these guys in Exeter back in May and they put on an astonishingly great show however this album doesn't reflect the genius they have at their disposal.
A small side-note, 'Works Every Time' really gets me every time I listen to it. This is more the diamond in the rough than the cherry on top.
Favourite Tracks: *Works Every Time*, Forgot Your Name, Hey Lover, I'm In Love, GummyBear
Half of these tracks will no doubt end up on a 'walk like a badass' playlist on your favourite streaming service.
Don't Wait 'Til Tomorrow is bags of fun but nothing groundbreaking.
Favourite Tracks: Bad Company, Lose Our Heads, Awake, Punch Bag, Wake Up
Frank Carter opens up on this album. It is a very honest album however falls short of being great.
Favourite Tracks: *End of Suffering*, Anxiety, Why a Butterfly Can't Love a Spider, Supervillain, Crowbar, Latex Dreams
SOMETIMES YOU GOTTA CLOSE A DOOR TO OPEN A WINDOW
This album. THIS album. It clicked with me.
Favourite Tracks: THE WHOLE THING
This album shares a lot of similarities to, 'Joy as an act of resistance', IDLES latest release. An explosive intro opens up into a vulnerable debut album. I love it.
101 FM hooked me, this album is a catch.
Favourite Tracks: Pressure, Offence, 101 FM, Selfish, Sherbet Sunset
Seems this album is being taken a bit too seriously. Of course, it's good, that's not in question. What is in question is that the critic bandwagon is overhyping this album.
The armbands have fallen off and Alex is drowning in the deep end. If Ed Sheeran were to take it upon himself to make an indie album, one would assume it would sound like this.
All in all this album falls short of expectation. Part 1 throughout was memorable and full of fresh sounds, whereas Part 2 sees Foals fall back into their comfort zone. A lot of the songs on this album could have easily popped up on Holy Fire or What Went Down. It seems they spent so much time making Part 1 perfect that Part 2 was never going to live up to the hype that Part 1 created.
Despite not being as good as I had hoped, there are a few good things to take away from this album. Firstly, ... read more
This album is a lot of fun and I don’t think it’s much of a stretch to say that this is one of the better indie records put out this year. It’s good to see Sergio branching out on projects like this. It’s nothing groundbreaking or experimental, you know what you’re getting with this album.
That being said, the album holds its own all the way through. Serge toys with different genre’s on this album e.g. Favourites ft. Little Simz. It's a breath of fresh air ... read more

I'm so disappointed with this release. This glossy, synth-driven pop doesn't suit Two Door at all. The previous release, Gameshow, offered a good meld of synth-driven songs with layered guitars, but this is too much. The Open Mike Eagle verse is so poor, it completely ruins the track and don't get me started on the awful voice effects that they try to pull off on 'Think'. It's good to see them experimenting with different sounds, but they can do better than this.

SOMEHOW MORE FORGETTABLE THAN PREVIOUS RELEASES!
This album will send you to sleep because of its boring nature and repetitive lyrics. Was there any point in making this album, really?
'Those Nights' is the obvious highlight in this mess and 'Joy' is aptly titled, as it sums up the overwhelming feeling you get when it finishes and it's finally over.
