Ice Spice - Y2K!

"Just want the money I don't want the fame"
Yeah... it definitely sounds like it.

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard - Hog Calling Contest

The song is pretty great, looking forward to seeing how it will fit on the album and if it will grow on me
The documentary is so good, please give it a watch

The Warning - Keep Me Fed
73

The Warning is such a lame name for a hard rock band.

Anyway this is a perfectly fine rock album. There are some pretty good tracks here and nothing really stands out as being bad or so much worse than the rest of the album that is worth pointing out.

It's hard to say whether they have potential to be great, but I think it's pretty safe to say they are not going to be terrible, however we also had a bunch of new rock bands coming out the past year or so that have made much more ... read more

A.J. & Big Justice - We Bring The BOOM!
NR

Why does this sound so much like the Donkey Kong Rap

JoJo Siwa - Guilty Pleasure
13

There are actually some pretty cool moments here production wise but everything else about this EP is literally the worst it could be. The vocals are ass and the lyrics are a 13 year old's idea of what a pop song should sound like.

I've seen people saying this is her attempt at replicating BRAT, and while I kind of agree, I think she is actually aiming more towards Olivia Rodrigo, who was also to some extant a child star who started making more adult music and now she has a massive ... read more

Lauryn Hill - Ex-Factor

Genuinely how do you even come up with this. Like how did she pack so many hooks into one song

Maroon 5 - Songs About Jane
71

The greatest fall off of the century.

This album is really sad to listen to. It's a solid album, an impressive debut and there are some great songs on here.

There is potential here, the building blocks for a great band are here, but instead they did the most blatant example of selling out maybe ever, and honestly that's fair. They could've ended up like most other early 2000s pop-rock bands like Yellowcard or Keane, where they have one song that everyone knows but are otherwise ... read more

James Blake - Bad Cameo

I hope you liked the first song because there isn't a lot of variation here.
It's fine. Some nice moments and I especially enjoyed the closing track but overall I found it hard to have an opinion about half the songs on here.

I like the fact that this album exists though. Lil Yachty continues to experiment and dip his toes in different generes and if he keeps going in these experiments I believe he can make something truly special.

David Bowie - Station to Station

Never even done cocaaaaine
I never even tried it, never even tried it

Oingo Boingo - Nothing to Fear
95

More like Oingo Banger cus this shit slaps
Sorry

I don't remember the last time I was this pleasantly surprised by an album. Came into this with pretty much zero expectations and I was kind of shocked by how much fun this album is.

Some of the most killer guitar riffs I've heard in a while. I love pretty much all of these tracks. Just one of the most fun albums I've ever heard.

Michael Jackson - Thriller

The highs are unbelievably high, and then you have 40-something year old McCartney fighting with early 20s Michael Jackson over a girl.

Poppy - new way out

Goes hard. Please keep this quality up for a full album

Knocked Loose - You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To

I've been Knocked Loose. Literally can't stop listening to this album.
(80 -> 88 -> 91 -> 94)

Favorites- Thirst, Suffocate, Don't Reach For Me, The Calm That Keeps You Awake

The Marías - Submarine

I was hoping this would scratch the same itch that Men I Trust did, and it kind of did, just in a way that's a tiny bit less interesting in my opinion.
Overall I'm vibin

Air - Moon Safari

Great album, -16 points for being french

Carole King - Tapestry

Full of bops. Incredibly strong start with I Feel The Earth Move, So Far Away and It's Too Late and while the rest of the album mostly isn't as good as these three songs, it never stops being fun.

Favorites- I Feel The Earth Move, So Far Away, It's Too Late, You've Got a Friend, Will You Love Me Tomorrow?
Least Favorite- Way Over Yonder, Smackwater Jack

RIP Steve Albini. One of the best Punk albums I've listened to in a while.

I really wish I looked into Steve Albino and got to appreciate him before his passing, especially considering how much I love the production on In Utero.

This album is fucking sick. He really was one of the best producers when it came to making Noise Rock.

Favorites- The Power of Independent Trucking, Bad Penny, Ergot

Billie Eilish - HIT ME HARD AND SOFT

FINNIEAS is on his A game, this is one of the best produced albums of the year so far.

I have not had a long time to fully process this album but it is already one of my favorite projects by Billie, and one of the best albums that will probably come out this year.

Edit: (91-> 87) I've found myself not returning to pretty much any of these songs or this album at all since it came out but decided to revisit some of my favorite albums of the year so far and while my opinions haven't ... read more

The Shaggs - Philosophy of the World

The Velvet Underground if they were good.
It really is impressive being this consistantly off beat, off key, pitchy and out of tune. I don't think I could do that even if I tried.

I am genuinely blown away by this album and I recommend anyone who is interested in understanding music better listen to this album, as it perfectly showcases what music shouldn't sound like. And even if that doesn't interest you, this album is still incredibly entertaining.
